On Wednesday, Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians registered their fifth consecutive loss in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season, losing by 12 runs against Punjab Kings. After their defeat in Pune, Mumbai Indians stand bottom of the table with worst net run-rate amongst all 10 teams. To add to their worry, Mumbai Indians was also fined for maintaining slow over rate against Punjab Kings with captain and players receiving penalty of INR 24 lakh and INR 6 lakh respectively.

Mumbai Indians will play their next game against Lucknow Super Giants at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on 16th April. Rohit Sharma and his troops will be expecting to change their fortune and get back to winning ways as another loss from here will put them in must win position to be alive in playoffs race.

The Mumbai Indians have been fined after they maintained a slow over rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match against Punjab Kings at the MCA Stadium, Pune on April 13.

This was the team’s second offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences. Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was fined Rs 24 lakhs and the rest of the members in the playing eleven were fined Rs 6 lakhs or 25 percent of their match fee, whichever is lower.
