After the first day of the finals of World Test Championship 2021 was washed out in Southampton, the ultimate showdown finally began on Saturday. As Kane Williamson won the toss and put India to bat first, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill walked out to start the proceedings. With Kiwi bowlers getting a lot of swing, everyone witnessed a great battle between bat and ball in the first session. However, there was a great face-off going inside the commentary box as well which was as entertaining as the match.

Hilarious moment in the commentary box

It was the early part of the game where the broadcasters were showing the statistics of Rohit Sharma. The commentary panel had a unique combination of an Indian, Englishman and Kiwi featuring Dinesh Karthik, Nasser Hussain and Simon Doull, respectively.

As the trio was reflecting on Hitman being a great puller of the short ball and how effectively he uses his feet well against spin and shows positive intent, Dinesh Karthik made a hilarious remark stating that they are exactly the opposite to how Nasser Hussain used to play. As co-commentator Simon Doull burst into laughter, the former England captain also smiled and accepted that the sledging has already begun.

Indian fans absolutely enjoyed the sledge

While Wasim Jaffer has often been seen replying to Michael Vaughan's comments on social media, the fans were delighted to see another exciting Indo-English combo involved in banter. While some fans just termed the sledge as 'Gold', the others hailed the trio for being fun, entertaining and insightful at the same time.
