The story of the rise of Rohit Sharma has been an incredible one in the cricketing arena. From somebody who disappointed fans by getting out through lazy shots, he has made that very ability his strength and gone on to become one of the most feared batters around the world. Especially in limited-overs cricket, his record speaks for himself. While no other batsman in the world has crossed the double-hundred mark more than once in One-Day Internationals, the Hitman has done it thrice. There is little doubt that if ever a paper is taken on "The art of pacing an ODI innings," it will be taught by Rohit.

Slowly, Rohit has even started to make an impact in red ball cricket making him one of the modern day greats. However, retired international cricketer from Pakistan, Mohammad Amir had gone on record saying that it was easy to bowl to Rohit Sharma. While he added that even Virat Kohli wasn't that tough to bowl to, he talked of bowling to Rohit as if he was any ordinary cricketer.

"I find it easy to bowl to Rohit. I feel I can dismiss him both ways. He struggles against in-swinging deliveries from left-handers, and even early on, he struggles against the ball that goes away," Amir had said in an interview with Cricwick.

Rohit is of a higher class: Danish Kaneria

However, former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria does not agree with Amir at all. He has urged the left-arm pacer to choose his words carefully while taking about a phenomenal performer like Rohit Sharma.

"Rohit Sharma is a player who has scored so many double-centuries, and on top of that, he is a run-machine. There is hardly a player who plays spinners and fast bowlers better than him. And as far as you are concerned, you no longer have that pace or swing, because of which you couldn’t perform for the last two years and were axed from the team. So you come back, perform and when he is against you, and then make such statements. It will make for an exciting battle," Kaneria said in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel.

"But to say things out of the blue like ‘I have two types of balls and I can get him out anytime’, I don’t think so. Rohit Sharma is far superior to you, he is of a higher class. Very sorry, but that’s my opinion," he added.
