After no Indian player made the cut in ICC Men's T20I and ODI Teams of the year 2021, there was a lot of disappointment among the fans. However, much to their delight, as many as three players have been included in the recently-announced ICC Men's Test Team of the year.

Rohit Sharma, who was superb at top of the order for India, throughout the year in red-ball cricket made it to the team as an opener. Rishabh Pant, who played some brilliant knocks down the order including the heroic innings at Gabba, has been included as the designated wicket-keeper in the side. Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin, who continued to dazzle in whites, took the spinner's spot.
