The Zimbabwe national rugby team has been handed a major boost in their attempt to qualify for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France after they were confirmed earlier as the hosts for the Rugby Africa Cup Pool D matches which also double up as the first phase of qualifications of the world event. Notably, Zimbabwe was given the right to host the competition after Tunisia withdrew not only from hosting the tournament but also as participants after an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country.

"Zimbabwe will now host pool D games after Tunisia failed to host the tournament after a surge in COVID-19 cases which saw them move from an orange to a red zone. Zimbabwe was on standby to host the games as the second highest ranked team in the group," a statement from Zimbabwe Rugby Union confirmed.

And now The Sables are all set to host the Burkina Faso team in a few days time. Not only was Tunisia originally scheduled to host both these nations in Monastir, it was known that the top two sides will proceed to the knockout stages of the African competition next year which also be the final World Cup qualifying stage which is scheduled in 2023.

While Zimbabwe have already hosted them in a match earlier, here are the details of the second contest between the sides.

Where is the Zimbabwe vs Burkina Faso taking place?

The match is set to happen at the Old Georgians Stadium, Harare, Zimbabwe.

The rescheduled fixtures have given the higher-ranked Zimbabwe side an ever better advantage of playing in their home conditions. However, Burkina Faso shouldn't be too much concerned with this as they are already assured of a place in the Round 3. In fact, Zimbabwe too wouldn't have much much pressure and this should add to the brand of the sport they play as one could expect an enjoyable occasion for both teams but the Sables are 56 places above Burkina Faso in the Rugby World Rankings and will again start as favourites in this contest.
