Much to everyone’s surprise, South Africa came back from trailing the Test Series 0-1 and even managed to win this Series by 2-1 against this strong Indian side. Keegan Petersen, Dean Elgar, Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen played a crucial role for Proteas to win this Test Series and keep their record intact against India. India’s Middle-order batting poor form has cost the series for them this time unfortunately and South Africa were able to chase a 200-plus run target twice successfully in two consecutive Test matches.

Initially, India won the toss and opted to bat first, managing to post 223 runs on board and then taking a marginal 13 run lead against South Africa with the help of Jasprit Bumrah’s five-wicket haul. In the 2nd innings other than Rishabh Pant’s century and Virat Kohli’s hard-fought 29 from 143 balls none of them made an impact with the bat and meant India were all-out for just 198 runs. South Africa chased down 212 runs convincingly with the help of Keegan Petersen’s 82 run knock and 57 run unbeaten partnership from van der Dussen and Bavuma.
