Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar took to social media to thank his fans and followers for their wishes on his 48th birthday. As wishes poured in from the cricketing world, fans and other eminent personalities, Sachin was grateful to his well-wishers for making his day. However, the veteran cricketer did so in a new look - a salt and pepper beard.

Tendulkar then explained how it was difficult for him to recover from COVID-19 after he had tested positive last month. "It had been a tough month for me. I was tested positive and had to be isolated for 21 days," he said. The former international cricketer then thanked the doctors and medical staff who helped him recover from the virus during the 21-day quarantine.

Tendulkar urges people to donate plasma for COVID-19 patients

The cricketing legend then urged people, who have recovered from the coronavirus, to donate plasma as it helps in the treatment of active COVID-19 patients. "If plasma can be given at the right time, patients can recover faster," outlined Tendulkar and appealed to the people to donate plasma at the plasma donation center that he inaugurated last year.

“Your prayers and good wishes, my family’s prayers and good wishes, friends, and last but not the least, all the doctors and their staff- they kept me in a positive frame of mind and helped me recover. A big thank you to all of you,” he concluded.
