Football is a game that involves a lot of physical tussles between the players. Every striker wants to get a hold of the ball while the opposition tries to stop it. In between this, there are physical altercations as well which sometimes lead to injuries. A similar incident took place in the match AFCON match between Senegal and Cape Verde where a severe head collision took place.

In the 57th minute of the game, Senegal's striker Sadio Mane and Cape Verde's goalkeeper Vozinha got involved in an ugly head collision. Sadio Mane, looking at an opportunity to hit the back of the net, was moving aggressively towards the Cape Verde nets. Vozinha, who was trying to stop Mane jumped to take the ball under his control. At the same time, Mane also made an attempt to head the ball but both the players ended up colliding. Mane looked in real pain as he stayed on the ground. Vozinha, on the other hand, was given a red card after multiple VARs.

Mane stays and scores a goal before leaving the field

After such a severe collision, Mane was expected to leave the field but the Senegal Forward stayed. He not only stayed at the ground but also opened the scoring for Senegal just after six minutes of the collision. Mane hit the back of Cape Verde's net who were reduced to nine men with Vozinha (57') and Patrick Andrade (21') handed red cards. However, Sadio Mane eventually had to leave the field as he felt the concussion from the collision.

With Mane's goal, Senegal got a 1-0 lead in the game. Bamba Dieng capitalized on the start and netted a goal in the second minute of the extended time and helped Senegal take the match home. With this win, Senegal are through to the last-8 stage i.e. the quarterfinals. They will face the winner of Mali vs. Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.

Vozinha visits Mane in hospital

The Cape Verde goalkeeper was well aware of Mane's injury and thus he immediately visited the Senegal striker after the match.
