Saina Nehwal’s biopic first look poster goes viral, set to be released in cinemas on March 26

Saina Nehwal was the first female shuttler from India to grab a medal at the Olympics. Nehwal had won the bronze medal at the women’s singles event at the London Olympics in 2012.

Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal’s biopic poster has finally been revealed on social media and fans have gone berserk. Saina Nehwal, herself shared the first look of the poster on Instagram. The biopic, 'Saina', will chronicle the journey of Nehwal from a young, aspiring badminton player to an Olympic medallist. The movie is set to hit the Indian cinemas on March 26.

Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra will be seen playing the lead role of Saina Nehwal in the movie. The movie is being directed by Amol Gupte. Parineeti Chopra had earlier uploaded social media posts of her rigorous badminton training to match the vigour of Nehwal on screen. “Maar Doongi” are the fancy italics which are in the poster that grabs our attention. The poster also contains a hand with a wristband which has a tri-colour undertone. Saina Nehwal’s Instagram post read the caption

Initially, Shraddha Kapoor was supposed to do the role of Saina Nehwal in the movie, but she had to leave the movie. The filmmakers then brought in Parineeti Chopra. The film will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Sujay Jairaj and Rashesh Shah under production house T-series.

Saina Nehwal has been a stalwart of the sport in India. She has several achievements under her belt and has earned several plaudits for her performances. She was the first female shuttler from India to grab a medal at the Olympics. Nehwal had won the bronze medal at the women’s singles event at the London Olympics in 2012. Presently, Nehwal is jostling for a Tokyo Olympic spot. Her rank is 22 and only 16 qualify for the marquee event. Fitness has been a major concern for Nehwal as she has been battling out niggles for a considerable period of time.
