Jasprit Bumrah took Stuart Broad as well as the internet by a storm with his inning of 31* in the first innings of the 5th Test between India and England. The pacer played a blinder as he amassed 35 runs in Stuart Broad’s one over. Bumrah also became the batter to score the most number of runs in one over of Test cricket (29).

As the batter made headlines with his knock, an old video of his wife Sanjana Ganesan taking credit for his batting skills has gone viral. International Cricket Council (ICC) shared the video with the caption “Guess where @jaspritb1 gets his batting tips from?” In the video, Sanjana can be heard saying “I only focus on his batting. That’s where I excel. The 1s and 2s you see, it’s all me.”

Bumrah creates history

Jasprit Bumrah not only smashed Stuart Broad but he also created and broke many records. With his knock of 31*, Bumrah became the player with the highest score by a captain in a Test innings while batting at 10 or 11. He pipped Bob Willis who had scored 28 against Pakistan way back in 1982.

India dominating the decider

On the back of this blistering knock from Bumrah and some fabulous knocks from Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja, India posted 416 in their first innings. Bumrah continued the momentum with the ball as well as he got rid of both the English openers. First, he cleaned up Alex Lees then he got rid of Zak Crawley as he got the batter caught at slip. The third scalp for Bumrah came in the form of Ollie Pope who was also caught at slips.

With these three early breakthroughs provided by captain Bumrah, India are dominating the series decider so far. Rain is continuously interrupting the match but India look in firm control with England at 83/5 in 26 overs.
