Sebastian Vettel loses his bag to thieves after Spanish GP

Vettel put in efforts to save his bag using GPS tracker but was outfoxed by the thieves.

Four-time F1 Champion Sebastian Vettel lost his bag to thieves during his stay in Barcelona after the Spanish Grand Prix. The Aston Martin driver got his bag stolen through a car window outside his hotel, according to major Catalan publication El Periodico. Vettel put in efforts to save his bag using GPS tracker but was outfoxed by the thieves.

According to the report, in an effort to try and track down his stolen bag using his scooter, Vettel used a GPS signal from the AirPods headphones that were in the bag using the Find my iPhone app to find out where they were. He was even successful in locating his AirPods. But to only find out that his all other belongings are gone.

A spokesperson from Aston Martin confirmed to on Monday afternoon that Vettel had been the victim of the bag theft. “A bag belonging to Sebastian Vettel was stolen in Barcelona this morning,” the team confirmed.

“He tried to find it by using his iPhone to track his earphones which were in his bag; but when he located his earphones he found them abandoned and was therefore unable to locate his stolen bag.”

2022 season not going well for Vettel

The Aston Martin driver is not performing to the expectations of his fans in the 2022 season. In the recently concluded Spanish Grand Prix, Vettel finished in the eleventh position. And the German driver did not look too pleased with his team’s performance calling the effort “F2 qualifying pace”.

“It was hot in the car. With 11th we are not taking any points which was the target. I think for everybody the car felt poor because it was so hot and so slippery with the tyres and we were going so slow. We were doing Formula 2 qualifying pace in the race, but we managed the tyres better than most,” said Vettel to in an interview.
