The Legends League Cricket started off with a bang with India Maharajas winning a hard-fought encounter against Asia Lions in Match 1 of the tournament. The fans saw the legends of the game compete against each other once again in the power packed Legends League Cricket tournament. The game was held at Al Amerat Cricket Ground Oman Cricket (Ministry Turf 1), Oman.

The tournament will be contested over 10 days in a double round robin style format, with the top two teams progressing to the final. India Maharajas kicked off their campaign in Legends League Cricket in style as they registered a comprehensive 6-wicket win over Asia Lions on Thursday. After Irfan Pathan’s 2/22 restricted the opposition to 175/7 in 20 overs, Mohammad Kaif’s side hunted down the target in 19.1 overs on the back of a brilliant knock from Yusuf Pathan, who scored 80 runs off 40 balls. Kaif also smashed an unbeaten 42 in the chase.

Even though some players called it quits recently, many who are still associated with the game are still fit enough for the franchise leagues. Most others have taken up coaching and mentoring jobs, but all looked super excited to get back on the cricket field.
