Sergio Aguero is undoubtedly one of the best strikers to have ever graced the game of football. No one can ever forget his heroics in Premier League for Manchester City, especially his famous title-winning goal in the 2011-12 campaign. Following a very successful spell in England, he joined FC Barcelona ahead of this season but things haven't gone according to the plan for the Argentine.

The 33-year-old missed the early part of the season due to injuries and when he returned, he was taken aback with some serious health problems. Making his first start at the club against Alaves on October 31, he complained of 'chest discomfort' during the first half of the match. Notably, Aguero was also suffering from breathing problems and as expected, he was taken off the field in the 42nd minute and was replaced by Philippe Coutinho.

Aguero was effective ruled out for 3 months

It was revealed that the striker was taken to hospital following the incident. FC Barcelona also issued an official statement that stated, “The player Kun Agüero has undergone a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure by Dr. Josep Brugada. He is out and for the next three months the effectiveness of the treatment will be evaluated to determine his recovery process.”

Amid so many concerns among the fans regarding Aguero's health, the Argentine took to social media and thanked everyone for their support and well wishes. He said, “I am well and in good spirits to face the recovery process. I want to thank you all for so many messages of support and love that make my heart stronger today.”

Aguero might be forced to retire from football

Much to the shock of everyone, it had been revealed that Sergio Aguero's test reports weren't very positive which raised doubts over his return to the football field. A few days back, Catalunya Radio had reported that the Argentine may retire with the issue being more complicated than was initially expected. As he is reportedly suffering from a cardiac arrhythmia, it is a likely possibility that the 33-year-old might be forced to hang up his boots.

And now, a few days later since those reports, Fabrizio Romano's latest tweet suggests that it might actually be true and Sergio Aguero might have already played his last game in professional football. Notably, a press conference is expected to take place next week to clarify the entire situation around his health and his future.

While the news comes as a major shock for the footballing world, the only thing that everyone would be praying for is Aguero's speedy recovery.
