One of the biggest contests in Serie A is between the two-star players Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. And now, if there are no more changes to the Serie A schedule for the 2021-22 season and the two giants continue to remain with their respective clubs, the two are set to meet on September 19 in Turin.

The season opener will see Serie A champions Inter Milan facing Genoa. Notably, the anticipation for the Ronaldo vs Ibrahimovic clash has already commenced. It is more so owing to the mouth-watering clash that AC Milan and Juventus produced when they last met in the competition. Ibra's Milan had handed Juve a 3-0 defeat at the Juventus stadium when the latter was desperate for a win to secure a Champions League berth.

However, Juve secured qualification for the Champions League on the last day of the season and would look to avenge their defeat on September 19. While superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is being associated with a move away from the club for a long time now, chances are that he may stay with Juventus for another season to try and lift the Champions League with them. He is also being linked with a transfer to Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain but nothing concrete has materialised.

On the other hand, Zlatan's place in AC Milan looks more or less settled for now after the former Manchester United star made a huge impact on their campaign last season. Thanks to Ibrahimovic's charismatic presence and form, AC Milan have also made it to the Champions League after quite a while and if everything remains the same, he will go head to head with Ronaldo on September 19.

The primary agenda for Juve would also be to win the domestic league after they lost it post 9 long years last season. Despite ending as the highest goal scorer of the league, Ronaldo could not help his team defend the Serie A title and it would be interesting to see how they go about their business this year.
