The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a tough tournament where teams are thrown big challenges. Teams also try different tactics to leave their opposition baffled. When they work, people call it masterstroke but if they don’t, it’s called a waste. The same happened with Rajasthan Royals in their match against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday evening.
The RR management surprised everyone from their opposition to fans with their strange tactics. They sent R Ashwin to bat ahead of Riyan Parag when Rassie van der Dussen was dismissed. This move from RR management backfired eventually as they had to call back Ashwin in the 19th over. But the damage was done till then. And Twitter was quick to react to this event in the game.

Many people questioned the move and also sought clarity on Parag’s role in the team. “You play Riyan Parag ahead of someone like Karun Nair. Then you send Ashwin before Parag, to bat. What exactly is his speciality? Is he a bowler who bats a bit? Never seen him bowling consistently, though,” wrote a user on Twitter. Some also called it unfair on the youngster.
