Star Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has confirmed that will play the next and his last season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Afridi made the revelation during a candid video, which was shared on YouTube by Pakistani pace legend Shoaib Akhtar. Notably, PSL franchise Quetta Gladiators (QG) had also confirmed the development earlier this week that the cricket icon will represent their franchise in PSL 7.

While addressing a press conference in Karachi on Tuesday, Gladiators owner Nadeem Omar had told reporters that the former Pakistan captain will represent Quetta Gladiators in PSL 7. Afridi has previously played for Peshawar Zalmi, with whom he won the PSL title in 2017. He has also represented Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans in the past.

Shahid Afridi missed out on the last edition of the PSL for Multan Sultans due to a back injury. Afridi has taken 97 wickets in his T20I career at an average of 24.35 and a strike rate of 22.10. He has also scored 1416 runs at a strike rate of 150.

PSL 7 players’ draft likely to take place in December 2021: Reports

The players draft of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is expected to take place in December.According to reports, the draft could well be conducted in the second week of December 2021, with the officials already being told to start their preparations for the same.

The tentative dates of the same have also come out and it is being learned that the draft may happen between December 8 to 10. The seventh edition of Pakistan's franchise-based tournament will begin in the fourth week of January next year. The first stage of the tournament will be played in Karachi and the second has been slated to take place in Lahore.
