People make mistakes but in the times of social media, even a small mistake gets a lot of attention and also attracts criticism. The same happened to a journalist who mistakenly called Sheldon Jackson a foreign player on a live show. The video of the same went viral on the internet as people brutally trolled the journalist for not knowing about own country’s player.

The incident happened at a talk show on Sports Tak when a journalist repeatedly named Jackson as an overseas player. A Twitter user shared the video and wrote “This is height of comedy! The so-called cricket experts on #SportsTak are continuously calling Sheldon Jackson a foreign player. Shame!”.

Rahul Rawat, the panelist of the show, however, came to defend the journalist and apologized for the mistake. Rawat quoted the tweet from the aforementioned user and clarified “Nowhere during this clip or during the entire show did I ever mention Sheldon Jackson as a foreign player. My bad I didn’t realize when he got called an overseas entrant. Pls go through the entire show because I am very well aware of Sheldon’s achievements for Indian cricket.”

Now, the cricketer himself has participated in the heating debate and now has given a befitting reply in a unique style. Jackson has shared a sarcastic tweet clarifying that he is from Saurashtra and not some foreign country. The Saurashtra cricketer shared a tweet from one of the Twitter users who pointed out that Jackson holds the record for the second-most number of centuries for Saurashtra in red-ball cricket.

“Most Ranji Trophy Century by Saurashtra-born player. (Ranjitsinhji birth place) 21: Cheteshwar Pujara 17: Sheldon Jackson. Only Pujara has scored more hundreds than Sheldon,” read the tweet that was retweeted by Jackson.
