Ahead of the forthcoming limited-overs series against Sri Lanka, captain Shikhar Dhawan and vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar were spotted facing off against one-another in an intra-squad practice match. In a social media post shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Shikhar Dhawan and Nitish Rana were seen batting as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Krunal Pandya bowled.

Notably, this is the first time in history that two separate Indian teams are in different parts of the world preparing for unique assignments. While Dhawan-led Team India are getting ready for the 3 ODIs and T20Is against Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli-led side are in the UK ahead of the five-match Test series, beginning in August.

The Indian team in the island country, which has been touted as a second string side by several experts, features star performers from IPL who have earned their maiden call-up. A good performance in Team India blue could even help them seal a place in the side for the T20 World Cup later this year.
