Ireland team on Friday, while chasing 347 runs in the 3rd ODI at one stage, were reduced to 92/6 but Simi Singh who came in at number 8, smashed a century and helped Ireland put a respectable total of 276 runs on board in the end. Initially, South Africa had posted a very competitive total of 346 runs on the board with the help of a 225-run opening partnership between Janneman Malan and Quinton de Kock.

Lizaad Williams, who made his ODI debut on Friday, has become only the 3rd South African bowler after Martin Van Jaarsveld and Monde Zondeki, to pick a wicket in the first ball of his ODI career itself. Though Ireland ended up losing the 3rd ODI, still Simi Singh's gritty knock of 100*(91) and his 104-run partnership with Curtis Campher has enabled him to enter the record books in ODIs.
