Indian Olympic medalist PV Sindhu has pulled off a sensational win in the ongoing Singapore Open tournament as the ace Indian shuttler beat China's Han Yue in a nail-biting quarterfinal match. The world No. 7 won the match 17-21, 21-11, 21-19 to enter the semifinals on Friday.

After losing the first set, the 27-year-old badminton ace made a tough comeback against the 22-year-old Chinese international, who defeated India’s Ashmitha Chaliha in straight sets to reach the quarterfinal.

In the semifinal, PV Sindhu will now face Japan’s Saena Kawakami, who has defeated the World No. 10, Pornpawee Chochuwong in the quarterfinal. Earlier, Sindhu had defeated Nguyen Thuy Linh in the second round in three sets to qualify for the quarter final.

Meanwhile, Indian shuttler H.S. Prannoy will face Japan’s Kodai Naraoka in the quarterfinals of the BWF 500 tournament. Saina Nehwal will take on Japan’s Aya Ohori to book a spot in the Singapore Open semifinals.

For the second time in two weeks, Prannoy defeated World No.4 Chou Tien-chen to enter the quarterfinals, while Saina Nehwal beat fifth-ranked He Bingjiao in the second round match-up. This is the first time Saina has reached a quarterfinal in a tournament this year.
