Australia registered a comfortable win in the first T20I against Sri Lanka on Tuesday. Bowling first, Australia bundled the home team out for just 128 runs with the help of terrific bowling from Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc. Initially, Sri Lanka were scoring runs brilliantly as they reached 100 runs in just 11.4 overs but the hosts suffered a stunning collapse after that and were bowled out for 128 as none of the middle and lower order batsman contributed to the scorecard except Wanindu Hasaranga.
Australia defeated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets as the opening pair of Finch and Warner went all in and stitched an unbeaten 134-run opening partnership to chase down the target with 6 overs to spare. Among SL bowlers, only Maheesh Theekshana looked impressive with an economy of 6.25, while rest of the bowlers conceded runs at 10 rpo.
