Australia registered a dominant performance both with the bat and ball in the recently concluded 1st Test against Sri Lanka. The visitors won the first match of the two-match Test series by 10 wickets with Cameroon Green being awarded the Player of the Match for his knock of 77.

Meanwhile on Thursday, Australian skipper, Pat Cummins showed his batting skills and launched a massive six. However, the maximum from Cummins halted the game for a little while as the ball went missing. Facing Sri Lanka spinner Jeffrey Vandersay, Cummins smashed one of his ball from the over to the outfield at Galle. Jeffrey had pitched a full delivery from over-the-wicket which Cummins picked with full prowess to dispatch it for a maximum.

Minutes later, it was found that the ball landed right outside the stadium on the road adjoining the old fort.

Talking about the match, the Australian spinners tore apart the Sri Lankan line-up in the third innings. Travis Head and Nathan Lyon claimed four wickets each, while Mitchell Swepson picked two to bundle out the hosts for 113. With just 5 runs needed for Australia to win the game, the openers knocked the hosts with ease to win the match by 10 wickets and go 1-0 up in the series.

The two sides will next meet on July 8 for the second and final Test of the series.
