Australia winning the toss and opting to bat first posted a competitive total of 176/5 in 3rd match (dead rubber game) of T20I series against Sri Lanka. Among Sri Lanka bowlers other than Maheesh Theekshana no one were able to put pressure on Aussie batters, thus once again batters like Warner, Finch and Steven Smith showed their class while Marcus Stoinis looked pretty good against Praveen Jayawickrama in the 16th over.

Sri Lanka chasing the target of 177, started off on a good note but unfortunately from 81/2 they ended up collapsing to 108/6. It looked like they would get whitewashed to Australia in this T20I series, but unexpected turn of events happened as soon as Dasun Shanaka started smashing Josh Hazlewood in 18th over of chase. However, the Lankan skipper made the impossible happen by chasing 59 runs off the last 3 overs.
