It is May 29 - the day of the IPL 2022 final. After 70 enthralling league matches and 3 intense Playoff fixtures, finally the tournament has its two finalists prepping up for the final battle at the world's largest cricket stadium - the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. While both Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals have been the best teams in IPL 2022 so far, former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar believes Rajasthan should win the summit clash for the sake of this legend.

Akhtar, in an interview, said that Rajasthan should win this for their championship-winning captain Shane Warne who passed away earlier this year due to a heart attack.

"There was a dull moment in IPL. After that there was fierce competition. One team came back into the final after 14 years. Must remember Shane Warne. Bhajji's favourite, my favourite, our dear friend. Andrew Symonds, we dearly miss him. In memory of Shane Warne, Rajasthan go out there and smash the hell out of Gujarat for Shane Warne," the Rawalpindi Express said.

Other than Akhtar, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh was also part of the discussion as the two of them previewed the IPL 2022 final. Talking about RR's chances, both of them agreed that Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal were crucial for the Men in Pink. Singh, in particular, was impressed by Chahal's performances in the season.

"He is Jos Buttler in the bowling department. He has won matches on his own. he is a single bowler in the IPL, who is bowling like a spinner. He is bowling slow, enticing the batters to go after him but coming out of the crease. His googly has also been effective. He is playing with the batsman's mind. he has been a champion in chess too but in this game he has outdone a game of chess too," the former off-spinner said.
