So happy for Rahul Tripathi man: Twitter reacts as SRH batter gets maiden India call-up for Ireland series

Hard work and consistent performances have finally yielded results for Maharashtra cricketer Rahul Tripathi as he has been called up for the two-match T20I series against Ireland in July. As the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for Ireland T20Is, many were really happy to see Tripathi’s name on the list.

Rahul Tripathi was expected to make a cut into the national side after an impressive IPL 2022. The right-handed batter aggregated 413 runs in 14 matches at an average of 37.55 with the help of three half-centuries. However, Tripathi could not find a place in the squad announced for the South Africa series. A lot of questions were also raised about his omission.

But now as the batter has deservingly got the long-awaited national callup, Twitter users shared their emotions. Everyone from fans to former cricketers reacted to the news of Tripathi getting a place in the national squad. “So Happy for Rahul Tripathi man. Well deserved,” wrote Ian Bishop on Rahul Tripathi’s selection.

“Good to see Rahul Tripathi getting the maiden call for Indian team, deserving after been showing lots of consistency for KKR and SRH in IPL,” wrote a user on Twitter.

Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan also congratulated Tripathi on being selected.

While fans rejoiced Rahul Tripathi’s selection into the India team, the cricketer himself is on cloud nine after the news broke. After seeing his name on the list, Tripathi has said that it’s a dream come true moment for him. “It is a very big opportunity, a dream come true (moment) and (I) appreciate (it),” Tripathi told PTI.
