BCCI’s President Sourav Ganguly has revealed that the much-anticipated pink-ball Test between India and England is completely sold out. He claimed that BCCI’s secretary Jay Shah is already very excited as cricket is returning to Ahmedabad after a gap of six-seven years. The Gujarat Cricket Association is all set to host the final two Test of the series in the newly constructed Motera Stadium.

GCA set to host a great Test match at Ahmedabad

The BCCI President admitted that they were eagerly waiting to get the fans back in the stadiums. Ganguly claimed that the third Test could be even more interesting than what we saw in the second Test. He said, “I know the Gujarat Cricket Association will add a bit more to the cricket, not just with the game but a lot of other things around the game. It's going to be a great Test match for everyone."

One pink-ball Test in a series is ideal: Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly played a key role in organizing India’s first pink-ball Test against Bangladesh in Kolkata in 2019. Commenting on the prospect of pink-ball Tests, the 48-year-old said, "One pink-ball Test in a series is ideal. Every generation goes through changes. Pink ball is one of the main changes for Test match cricket, and to keep Test match cricket alive. I think with Ahmedabad packed stadium in the next week will be another great sight for everyone.”

Crowd could be back in IPL 2021

He also confirmed that the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League will be another mega tournament and BCCI is working to get the crowd back to the stadiums for IPL 2021. The BCCI President added that a decision on that will be taken very soon.
