South Africa white-ball skipper Temba Bavuma will not feature against Pakistan in upcoming 4-match T20I series. The decision comes following a groin injury to the Proteas skipper that he sustained during third ODI against Pakistan. As per the official confirmation, the injury is Grade One hamstring strain, which takes nearly 3 weeks to heal completely. However, Bavuma might not be the only missing for Proteas from T20I series. The South African team had earlier confirmed ruling out of Rassie van der Dussen just before the third ODI, and he may also be unavailable for the four-match series.

Following Temba Bavuma's injury, Heinrich Klaasen will lead the side against Pakistan in T2oIs. And apart from Bavuma and van der Dussen, the side will also miss Reeza Hendericks and Dwaine Pretorius.

To cover for the deficit, Aiden Markram, Andile Phehlukwayo, Daryn Dupavillon and Wiaan Mulder have been retained from the ODI squad, as per the official announcement.
