Sports fraternity condoles demise of veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar

Legendary Bollywood star and veteran actor Dilip Kumar passed away on Wednesday. Dilip, who was popularly known as the 'Tragedy King' of Bollywood, died at the age of 98 in a hospital in Mumbai. He was suffering from a prolonged illness, reportedly advanced prostate cancer that spread to other organs of his body and eventually saw him suffer kidney failure.

Dilip Kumar, born Yusuf Khan in Peshawar in 1922, is regarded as one of the greatest actors India has ever seen. He inspired generations of actors as he was a trendsetter, courtesy his acting style. His great works in Hindi cinema can be seen through movies like Devdas, Mughal-e-Azam and many more. He last appeared before the audience in Qila which was released in 1998.

People across the nation are mourning the demise of the legendary actor. Meanwhile, those from the sports fraternity also paid their tributes to the veteran. From the likes of cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar to boxing star Vijender Singh, sports personalities took to social media to express their grief.
