Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju launches Tokyo Olympics 2020 official theme song for India

Tokyo Olympic 2020 are set to kick off from July 23- August 8 in Tokyo, with over 100 Indian athletes qualifying for the sporting event.

With Tokyo Olympics being just a month away, the preparations for the mega event have been in full swing. Speaking of which, India’s Olympic theme song was launched on the occasion of Olympic Day on Wednesday. Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Kiren Rijiju, launched the official theme song of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 for the Indian contingent in New Delhi.

Titled ‘Tu Thaan Le’ the song has been composed and sung by India’s celebrated singer Mohit Chauhan, with lyrics by Ms Prathna Gahilote. Alongside the Sports Minister, the launch was attended by Secretary, GoI, Ministry of Sports Shri Ravi Mittal, Indian Olympic Association President Shri Narinder Batra and Secretary-general Shri Rajeev Mehta among other officials.

“It is the vision of the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji that the entire nation must come together to support and motivate Indian athletes going to the Tokyo Olympics. The launch of the official Theme Song today is a step in that direction." Rijiju mentioned.

Following the launch of the official theme song at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, IOA President Dr Narinder Dhruv Batra highlighted what this song symbolically represents. “With the launch of the theme song, I want all our athletes to know, this is not only an inspirational song. It is the resonation of 1.4 billion prayers behind you, and I strongly believe that you will give your best and bring glory to our nation,” he expressed.
