India won their 9th consecutive series against Sri Lanka courtesy of Deepak Chahar's heroic fifty and a brilliant partnership with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Sri Lanka again won the toss and opted to bat first and posted a decent total 275/9 at the end of 50 overs. The total looked like a distant dream for Team India at one time as they were reeling at 193/7 but an unbeaten 84-run partnership between Bhuvneshwar and Deepak took India home with 5 balls to spare. With this win, they have now taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series.
