The latest buzz around the Indian Premier League (IPL) circuit is coming from the Delhi Capitals camp. Not only was their star overseas player Anrich Nortje found COVID-19 positive in a false result but they even lost a close match without him in their Playing XI. However, Nortje has now joined the team's bio-bubble ahead of their game against Punjab Kings on Sunday and is expected to walk into the XI straightaway. Reports claim that he will be included in the side in place of Tom Curran who has not looked at his best in the season so far.

2 matches, 1/75 for Tom Curran in IPL 2021

While Curran featured in both of Delhi's matches so far, he conceded 75 runs off the 46 total deliveries he bowled scalping just a lone wicket. When it mattered the most in the last over against Rajasthan Royals on Thursday, Curran missed his length and was punished big time by Chris Morris who hit him for two sixes to help his side cross the line. The 26-year-old has an economy of 9.78 so far with an unimpressive strike rate of 46.00.

Nortje had a great run in IPL 2020

In sharp contrast, Nortje had a great run in IPL 2020. In 16 matches, the South African cricketer picked 22 wickets at an economy of under 9 with a strike rate of 16.63. His best figures read 3/33 and Delhi would hope that he could have a similar season for them this year and along with compatriot Kagiso Rabada form a formidable bowling partnership in the ongoing season.
