In a big injury scare for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, one of the leading pacers reportedly left the field with a thigh strain during their 9-wicket win over Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. While the team would be happy getting their first points on the table, injury scare to their right-arm speedster could make the win taste bitter. The fast bowler is none other than Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Did not complete his quota of 4 overs against PBKS

Notably, Bhuvi did not complete his quota of four overs against the KL Rahul-led side. The senior bowler bowled three economical overs and even picked up the wicket of the Punjab captain but did not return for the fourth over. Later the commentators of the host broadcasters clarified that Bhuvi, in fact, has a thigh strain and that's the reason he could not come back to complete the final over of his quota. It is also to be noted that the SRH pacer left the field and did not return after seven over of the PBKS innings.

Update on nature of injury awaited

Meanwhile, further update on the nature of Bhuvi's injury is awaited. However, if he is ruled out it will be a huge blow to SRH's chances, who found their first win of the competition on Wednesday. The 31-year-old missed the majority of IPL 2020 after sustaining an injury and made a comeback to competitive cricket earlier this year.
