Faf du Plessis has been appointed as captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore for IPL 2022 and it is the start of a new era for the franchise. The RCB fans are absolutely delighted to have the former SA captain as the replacement of Virat Kohli, who stepped down last season. There is a sense of excitement in Bengaluru where the big revelation was made during a festive Unbox Event at Church Street.
But there are extreme emotions down South Bengaluru. The Whistle Podu Army have been left absolutely heartbroken with their former star player now being appointed as skipper of arch-rivals. Well, such is the story of IPL and it was coming after CSK lost the bidding war for Faf during the mega auction.
CSK and Faf du Plessis: End of an era
Despite the 37-year-old now an RCB player and captain, Chennai Super Kings have not shied away from expressing love for their beloved star. Just a couple of days back, the franchise shared a video of Faf which left the fans emotional.
And now, as Royal Challengers Bangalore revealed him as captain during Insta Live session, CSK commented, "Stay Fafulous forever. Sending all the #Yellove" which just reflected the incredible bond between Faf and Yellow Army.

The much-awaited re-union of Faf and CSK will happen at least least twice this season as RCB will lock horns with MS Dhoni's side on April 12 and May 4 in league stages of IPL 2022, which is going to be two of the biggest games of the season due to various reasons.
