In a significant development, Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson has left for home to attend the birth of his child. The Hyderabad franchise notified about the same on Wednesday morning via Twitter. The franchise wrote, “Our skipper Kane Williamson is flying back to New Zealand to usher in the latest addition to his family. Everyone at the #Riser camp wishes Kane Williamson and his wife a safe delivery and a lot of happiness!”

Notably, Hyderabad registered a much-needed win on Tuesday evening against Mumbai Indians and remains in the playoff race. However, Hyderabad needs to win their last league stage match and hope to get the results of the other team’s turn in their favour to qualify.

Williamson, who could not perform much with the bat, was under heavy criticism from the cricket fraternity in the ongoing IPL 2022 season. However, the franchise has not yet informed who will lead Hyderabad in their last league game against Punjab Kings on May 22.
