Chennai Super Kings star player Suresh Raina returned for the franchise after 699 days in their IPL 2021 season opener against Delhi Capitals on Saturday. The Yellow Army, who clearly missed 'Chinna Thala' last season, had their leading run-scorer back and Raina certainly did not disappoint.

Raina's brilliant knock revives CSK

The stylish left-handed batsman came out to bat when Chennai were struggling at 7/2 in 2.1 overs. However, there is a reason why Raina is called 'Mr. IPL' as he maneuvered the field, showing his class against Delhi's experienced bowlers. The 34-year-old started a bit cautiously but went berserk against the spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Amit Mishra.

As he was approaching the fifty-run milestone, Raina smashed a mammoth six off Marcus Stoinis to complete his half-century off just 32 deliveries.

Here is the moment:

Raina's valiant knock revived CSK's innings as he individually scored 54 off 36. However, his innings came to an abrupt end as he lost his wicket to a run-out.
