With the craze of T20 tournaments ever-increasing, Surrey has decided to host another star-studded tournament. However, the tournament will have a different pattern compared to the other T20 leagues right now. Majority of the events comprise of franchises and matches based in a domestic setting with some international players in them. But the tournament in Surrey will take a different direction. Following the rise of great franchises and players all across the world, the new mini-tournament will comprise of  franchises from all the major tournaments around the world.

According to latest reports, Surrey has planned to host the mini competition in September 2021. And if the headlines are to be believed, the tournament will comprise of franchises from IPL, BBL, PSL, and CPL. However, a question still remains, and that is - which teams will feature in the tournament, and on what basis? And although, there is no official confirmation yet, the news looks promising, and could be the right step in bringing all the powerhouses from world cricket together at one stage.

Surrey's chief executive Richard Gould said, "We think the most deliverable plan is at the end of the season to bring an IPL team or teams from other parts of the world to play in a small baby-steps competition."

Moreover, there has been no official confirmation yet and the ECB and BCCI rules will also create a hindrance. Once the official barrier is negotiated, fans can expect an official announcement.

Fans expressed their views on Twitter over the news. Here are some of the tweets -

English board is trying too many things. Except Indians, entire world has registered for the Hundred. They are offering stakes to IPL owners so that Indian players can play in that.

Now Surrey is planning this.
