It's been quite a journey for Mumbai batsman Suryakumar Yadav. After consistent performances in the domestic circuit as well as in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for franchises like Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians, SKY, as he is popularly known as did receive his maiden India call up earlier this year. And when he finally made his T20I debut, he didn't get to bat. But in the very first opportunity that came his way in Indian colours, Yadav showed that he is ready for the challenge of international cricket.
Although he has done more than enough to continue playing at least the T20Is, with the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka in July, an ODI debut for SKY is expected soon. With the IPL suspended and still some time for the Sri Lanka tour in July, Surya used this opportunity to interact with his fans on social media. Responding to a fan question that asked to him say a word about India captain Virat Kohli, Suryakumar wrote, "Inspiration."

Acting would have been my alternate career choice: SKY
In another interesting revelation, Suryakumar said that if not playing cricket, he would have perhaps been a professional actor. However, he cheekily added a wink emoji along with that which suggests he might not be too serious about it. But given his iconic celebration against the Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore after starring in a clinical run-chase in IPL 2020, it is almost a certainty that he would have loved facing the cameras.
