Suryakumar Yadav to miss Mumbai Indians’ first match in IPL 2022

The five-time IPL champions will play their first game against Delhi Capitals on March 27 at the Brabourne - CCI.

In a big blow, Mumbai Indians star player is set to miss the franchise’s opening game in the IPL 2022. Notably, Suryakumar Yadav picked up a hairline fracture on this thumb in February this year.

According to recent reports, the 31-year-old suffered this fracture during the India vs West Indies final T20I match on February 22. He is currently at the Nation Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, where he is undergoing rehabilitation.

However, his loss will be a massive point to address by Rohit Sharma & Co., who’ll begin their tournament against Delhi Capitals on March 27. Suryakumar Yadav, who has played a pivotal role in the MI line-up was roped in the year 2019. He is MIs one of the top Indian international batter alongside skipper Rohit Sharma.

Mumbai to consider Anmolpreet

Notably, after this shocking news for MI team & fans, it is being said that the team might consider Anmolpreet Singh or Ramandeep Singh to replace SKY. Anmolpreet, who is known for his power-hitting ability, especially against spin attack has appeared in only one match, having scored 16 runs at the strike rate of 114.28.
