Haris Rauf did not have the best day on the cricket field during Pakistan's T20 World Cup semifinal match against Australia. While he conceded 32 runs in his three overs, he did not manage to pick up a single wicket as the Men in Green succumbed to a five-wicket defeat and bowed out of the tournament.

Overall, Rauf scalped eight wickets from six matches in the tournament at an economy of 7.30. He was also adjudged the Player of the Match in the Super 12 match against New Zealand.

Post the semifinal clash on Thursday, his opponent Glenn Maxwell heaped praise on him on social media and the two even exchanged their jersey after the match. Notably, the 28-year-old has played in the Big Bash League for Melbourne Stars where the Big Show is Rauf's captain.

The picture of the two sharing their national jersey was also shared by the BBL side as well as Maxwell himself.

"I’m so proud of how far this young man has come! What he has done for the @starsbbl and Pakistan cricket has been extraordinary! He is a fine human and a great teammate, and someone who I will always treasure as a friend. You are a superstar @harisraufofficial ??," Maxwell wrote sharing a picture with the pacer.

Here is his post:

Although, Australia have already booked a place in the finals, it has not really been a great tournament for Maxwell. The right-handed batter has managed 36 runs in 6 innings with the highest score of 18 and a strike rate of 78.26. Moreover, he is yet to score his first six of the tournament.

While it is true that he has done a decent job with the ball, also having picked 2 wickets so far but the team was certainly expecting more from him given the kind of form he showed for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second half of IPL 2021 at the same venues.

The team would hope he can come good against New Zealand in the final who have been handed a big blow with Devon Conway getting ruled out of the match with a broken hand.
