With Lucknow and Ahmedabad set to join the Indian Premier League from next year onwards, the two new franchises have already started their preparations to get core group of members on board. While they are already working on negotiations with players in order to sign 3 cricketers in the draft before the auction, it seems like they are wasting no time to recruit the coaching staff as well.

Former Zimbabwe cricketer Andy Flower, who recently resigned from the position as assistant coach in Punjab Kings, was one of the coaches who was linked with the two new franchises. As it turns out, the 53-year-old has joined Team Lucknow as reported by cricket journalist K Shriniwas Rao on Thursday.

Andy Flower is likely to team up with KL Rahul once again as the former PBKS captain is also reportedly leading the race to join Lucknow as their new captain. Meanwhile, the future of CVC Capital owned Ahmedabad has still not yet been resolved which is why there is no report of any player/coach signing from their camp as of now. However, there is one more franchise who is also looking to get on board an entirely new coaching staff for IPL 2022.

Dale Steyn likely to join SRH as bowling coach

With Trevor Bayliss, Brad Haddin and VVS Laxman parting ways with Sunrisers Hyderabad, the franchise has reportedly decided to appoint Tom Moody as their head coach. According to Cricbuzz, he will be joined by Dale Steyn (bowling coach) and former Indian cricketer Hemang Badani in the coaching staff.

It will be quite a new-look Orange Army on the field as well with so many star players like David Warner, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jonny Bairstow etc. released by them ahead of the mega auction. With Kane Williamson at the helm, it is surely the beginning of new era for SRH under the guidance of Tom Moody and Co.
