Although Day 6 of the inaugural edition of the Pacific Premier League had only one game, there was no compromise on the cricketing action. Team Marvellous-Sojatia and Team USA Global put on a show at the Pacific Sports Complex in Karanpur. It was a run-fest from Team Marvellous as they put on a mammoth 206/2 in their 20 overs after choosing to bat.

After losing Mahijeet Chauhan cheaply, Arjun Meena and Rohan Rajbhar put on a record 122-run partnership for the second wicket. While Meena scored an unbeaten 81 off 45 balls, Rohan Rajbhar perished after scoring 78 off 48 balls. He was dismissed by Mohammed Zeeshan. After Rohan fell, Sourabh Chouhan joined Arjun Meena in the middle and carried forward the momentum. Sourabh scored an unbeaten 42 off 20 balls with the help of two boundaries and three sixes.

With the Team Marvellous batters wreaking havoc, Team USA Global tried as many as seven bowlers but none could do the required damage. Mohammad Zeeshan and Anshuman Singh Hada were the only two successful bowlers with a wicket each in the game.

Team USA fall short by 38 runs

With such a big target on the board, a big partnership was required from Team USA but that did not happen. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually fell short of the target by 38 runs. Team USA lost their first wicket in the form of Shiva Chauhan in the second over itself. Another blow came their way in the next over as Yuvraj Singh perished to Karan Dave.

Kshitiz Tailong also could not last long and was dismissed for a cheap score of 14 (8) by Harshit Nagda. With four early wickets, Team USA were left tottering at 55/4 in six overs. However, a 44-run partnership between Shehzan Zaid and Kunj Trivedi revived them to a certain extent. But a lot was left to do for the rest of the batters. In the end, Team USA could reach 168/9 in their 20 overs. Shehzan Zaid remained the top scorer with his 44 off 34 balls. For Team Marvellous, Harshit Nagda was the top bowler with his spell of 4-0-32-3.
