Virat Kohli's supremacy in all formats of the game is unparalleled and the charismatic batsman has proved himself as one of the greatest captains ever to lead the team. He brought several laurels to the nation while leading the team, but specifically, the team's successful stint in overseas series was one of the standout performances for the former skipper. However, Kohli on Saturday stepped down from Test captaincy, leaving everyone surprised.

A day after, Kohli's wife Anushka Sharma posted a heartfelt note on Instagram, appreciating her husband for setting up an example for future generations. Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri also commented on Anushka's post and called the former Indian skipper, "the best ever".

Even, cricket greats like Sir Vivian Richards praised Kohli for proving his supremacy in the game. He tweeted, "Congratulations @imVkohli on a stunning run as the Indian captain. You can be very proud of what you have achieved so far, and for sure, your name will be up there among the best leaders in world cricket."
