Mumbai Indian’s pacer Trent Boult on Thursday opened up on Mumbai's bowing displays this season in the pre-match press conference before their encounter against Punjab Kings. Boult has taken 6 wickets in 4 matches at an economy of 7.27. The Kiwi pacer heaped praise on MI skipper Rohit Sharma, highlighting that he is very approachable and brings in a lot of experience to the side.

“He is a very positive guy and I have really enjoyed the opportunity to play under him”, added Boult. He also emphasized that lesser traveling as compared to other seasons of IPL has allowed the side to concentrate more on their game. The defending champions have played all 4 games of this season at M.A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai and will play their last game at the same venue on 23rd April. Following which, they will head to Delhi for their next 4 games of the tournament.

I enjoy bowling in such conditions alongside Bumrah: Boult

Trent Boult spoke about how he enjoys bowling alongside his teammate Jasprit Bumrah. "Having someone like Jasprit in the ranks definitely makes my job a lot easier,” Boult outlined. He then went on to term Bumrah as the 'death-over specialist'. The dynamic duo of Boult and Bumrah has been the key factor of the defending champions as they have collectively led the franchise to many victories.

“There’s a lot of hunger in MI’s bowling unit”

Boult added that there’s a lot of hunger amongst Mumbai Indians’ bowling unit to keep doing better for the team. “We will like to have more runs on the board,” mentioned Boult as that will allow the side’s bowling attack to perform better with every passing game. He also commented on the dew factor, mentioning that it’s part and parcel of the game and provides a good challenge for the bowlers.

Mumbai Indians are currently placed fourth on the table, with 2 wins and 2 losses. They will next take on Punjab Kings on Friday.
