It has also been confirmed that no other vehicles or passengers were involved in the crash. The steep stretch of road where the accident happened has supposedly been the ‘hotspot’ for high-speed accidents in recent years. Carlos Gonzalez was the first officer to arrive on scene. He confirmed that when he found Woods trapped in his vehicle, the 45-year-old appeared ‘calm and lucid’. He admitted that it was very fortunate that Mr. Woods was able to come out of this alive.

How the accident happened?

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva added that Woods did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the early-morning incident. Reflecting on the crash, he said, “Apparently the first contact was with the center median, and from there (the car) crossed into the opposing lane of traffic, hit the curb, hit a tree, and there were several rollovers during that process."

Woods' agent Mark Steinberg confirmed that the 45-year-old suffered multiple leg injuries during the accident. He stated, “Tiger is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support."

The 15-time major championships winner was supposedly near Los Angeles for his annual Genesis Invitational Golf tournament at the Riviera Country Club.
