Time for BCCI Prez to dive in: Ravi Shastri calls for Sourav Ganguly’s intervention as Wriddhiman Saha shares ‘threatening messages’ from journalist

Wriddhiman Saha received a lot of support from former cricketers after he shared the screenshot of the ‘threatening messages’ he had received from a journalist. From Virender Sehwag to Harbhajan Singh, everyone expressed their support for the veteran stumper. Pragyan Ojha, who is a member of the IPL Governing Council, urged Saha to come up with the name so that they can boycott that journalist. Meanwhile, Ravi Shastri, former India head coach, asked for Sourav Ganguly’s intervention into the matter.

Shastri shared the Tweet from Saha and wrote, “Shocking a player being threatened by a journo. Blatant position abuse. Something that’s happening too frequently with #TeamIndia. Time for the BCCI PREZ to dive in. Find out who the person is in the interest of every cricketer. This is serious coming from ultimate team man WS”.

While Sehwag, at first, had termed the incident ‘extremely sad’ and had extended his support to Saha, he came up with a suggestion for the wicketkeeper batter in case the journalist tried to get in touch with him again. Sehwag shared Rohit Sharma’s picture from a match where he was saying “Idhar aa. Kya hua tereko, Bhag kyu nhi rha hai theek se. Chal udhar bhag,” to Yuzvednra Chahal.

“What I would have done and what Wriddhi should be doing next time the so called journalist dares to message him,” wrote Sehwag alongside the pictures.

Else even the good ones will be put under suspicion.. What kind of journalism is this?” tweeted Harbhajan Singh.

Meanwhile, Pragyan Ojha wrote, “Please name him wriddhi! I promise you as a representative of players, I will make sure our cricket community boycotts this so called journalist!!”
