The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games- Tokyo 20200 is set to begin at 20:00 (JST) on July 23, 2021, which means in Indian Standard Time, the programme will begin at 4: 30 pm or 16:30 hours on July 23.

What to expect in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020?

The opening ceremony details are usually a secret and it is the same for this year. Despite there being no spectators, one can expect fireworks at the venue as flagbearers enter the stadium followed by their country's contingent. The competing nations will be led by Greece as it was the home of the Ancient Olympic Games, with host nation Japan entering the stadium last.

Post the Olympic oath, the games are officially declared open and television viewers will witness a spectacle of the artistic display as the Olympic flame will enter the stadium and the lighting of the Olympic cauldron will take place.
