The Day 13 at Tokyo Olympics 2020 could have proven to be a historic day for India in the Summer Games with so many medal events scheduled to take place. However, things really did not pan out the way as planned as one of India's biggest medal contenders in the form of Vinesh Phogat got knocked out of women's freestyle 53kg event in quarter-finals.

All eyes were on Ravi Kumar Dahiya as he had a chance to potentially clinch India's first gold medal at Tokyo 2020. Unfortunately, he also failed at the final hurdle and had to settle for silver medal. Despite few disappointing results in wrestling, a thrilling victory for Manpreet Singh's side against Germany in the bronze medal match was the highlight of the day as Indian team finally stood at the podium once again after years of heartbreak. Here is how all the results for Indian contingent unfolded on Thursday:

Athletics - Men's 20km Walk Finals

India's Sandeep Kumar finished at 23rd position in Men's 20km Walk with timing of 1:25:07. Meanwhile, his compatriot K. T. Irfan ended the race at 51st spot with timing of 1:34:41.

Hockey - Men's Bronze Medal Match

Indian men's team clinched their first ever medal in Hockey after 41 years after they defeated Germany by 5-4 in a thrilling bronze medal contest. Here is the list of all Olympic medals won by India in Hockey at Summer Games:

Gold: 8 - 1928, 1932, 1936, 1948, 1952, 1956, 1964, 1980

Silver: 1 - 1960

Bronze: 3 - 1968, 1972, 2020

Golf - Women's Individual Event

Aditi Ashok continued her impressive show in Tokyo as she ended Day 2 of women's individual Golf event at joint-second position with a total of -9. She is on her way to clinch a historic medal for India in this sport but its only half the job done right now with two more rounds remaining. Meanwhile, Diksha Dagar (+6) ended the day at 53rd spot.

Wrestling - Women's Freestyle 53kg 

Vinesh Phogat defeated Sofia Mattsson (Sweden) by 7-1 in pre-quarters of women's 53kg freestyle. However, the Indian wrestler lost to Vanesa Kaladzinskaya (Belarus) by fall in the quarter-finals and bowed out of the event.

Wrestling - Women's Freestyle 57kg Repechage 

Anshu Malik lost to Valeria Koblova (ROC) by 1-5 in the repechage round and got knocked out of the event. With a win, she could have qualified for bronze medal match but her dream of an Olympic medal ended with a disappointing loss.

Wrestling - Men's Freestyle 86kg Bronze Medal Match

Deepak Punia lost to San Marino's Myles Amine by 2-4 in the final stages of bronze medal match in men's freestyle 86kg event. The Indian wrestler was on his way of securing a bronze medal but a slight loss of concentration in the final few seconds resulted in a heartbreaking defeat for Punia.

Wrestling - Men's Freestyle 57kg Finals

Ravi Kumar Dahiya lost to ROC's Zaur Rizvanovich Uguev by 4-7 in the finals of men's freestyle 57kg and his dream run in Tokyo ended with a well-deserved silver medal. Despite the loss, the wrestler secured India’s fifth medal at Tokyo 2020 after Mirabai Chanu (Silver), PV Sindhu, Lovlina Borgohain and Indian men’s hockey team (Bronze).
