Wrestling has finally kicked off at the Olympics 2021 from August 1, with the Indian athletes, beginning their campaign on August 3. When it comes to wrestling in the ongoing Olympics, the most awaited grappler to watch out for is inarguably Bajrang Punia, who will be making his debut this year. He has undoubtedly grown to be one of India’s best wrestlers and is looked at as a big medal prospect in the Olympics.

The 27-year-old has many achievements to his name, including a gold at the Asian Games and will look forward to add another feather to his cap by winning an Olympic medal. The Indian grappler will be leading the Indian team at the closing ceremony of Olympics 2021 and will aim to walk down with a medal to his name while leading the Indian contingent on August 8.

When is Bajrang Punia’s freestyle event? (Schedule & Timings)

Bajrang Punia’s 65kg freestyle event is set to take place on August 6.

The semi-finals and finals are scheduled to take place on August 7.

Qualification and Quarter-finals: 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM

Semi-finals and Finals: 2:45 PM to 3:45 PM

The draws for the freestyle event will be announced on August 5, a day prior to the main event.

Sony Pictures Sports Networks have the official broadcasting rights for Olympics in India. Sony Ten 1, Sony Ten 2, Sony Ten 3 and Sony Six will telecast the live-action of the wrestling event at the Olympics. Besides, Doordarshan will also telecast all the events at Olympics 2021.
