Indian athletes defied all odds to make Day 11 as their best ever day of the ongoing Paralympics. First, shooter Manish Narwal broke the Paralympics record in the Mixed 50m Pistol event. Later in the day, the world no.1 shuttler, Pramod Bhagat delivered upon all the expectations against his name by securing India’s fourth gold medal as he beat Great Britain’s Daniel Bethell in straight sets.
In the Mixed 50m Pistol event, Singhraj managed to fetch a silver medal courtesy of his total of 216.7. He became the fifth Indian to secure more than one medal in the Paralympics games. Furthermore, after losing his semi-final game, shuttler Manoj Kumar managed to bounce back in emphatic style to register yet another bronze medal against India’s name. With several Indian athletes in action on Day 11, let us look upon the performances of each of them in their respective games.

Shooting- Men’s 50m Rifle Pistol
Manish Narwal, Singhraj and Akash were the Indian shooters to participator in this event, wherein the former duo managed to qualify into the finals.
After a relatively slow qualification, Manish Narwal shocked the world when he broke the Paralympics record with a score of 218.2. On the other hand, Singhraj too held his nerve and was the second best shooter in the particular event as he fetched a silver, courtesy of his score of 216.7.
Badminton
Pramod Bhagat, the World No. 1's first victory in the day came against Japanese opponent Daisuke Fujihara in straight sets, after the game went on for more than 36 minutes. After which in the final showdown, Bhagat got the better of Daniel Bethell of Great Britain to register another gold for India.
After losing his semi-final game to Daniel Bethell, Manoj Sarkar came back full throttle to beat Daisuke Fujihara of Japan to clinch the bronze medal.
Another Indian shuttler in action in the semi-final was Tarun Dhillon, who lost to France’s Lucas Mazur in a nail-biting contest. Yet, Dhillon will be in action tomorrow in the bronze medal game against Indonesia’s Fredy Setiawan.
The next Indian shuttler competing in the semi-final matchup was Suhas Yathiraj, who managed to beat his Indonesian opponent and will be in action in the gold medal match on Day 12 of the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 Games.
The last Indian shuttler who was in action in the semi-final round was Krishna Nagar, who went onto beat Great Britain’s Krysten Coombs to pave his way into tomorrow’s gold medal match.
In the mixed doubles event wherein Pramod Bhagat and Palak Kohli lost to their Indonesian opponent. However the Indian duo will get their chance of redemption when they compete in the bronze medal match on Day 12.
Athletics- Men’s Javelin Throw
Navdeep Singh missed the podium by a whisker as the last two of his throws were counted as foul. Yet he managed to throw his personal best, with his score tally being 38.59, 38.33, 39.97, 40.80, x(foul) and x respectively.
