Safe to say that Day 8 did not prove to be good outing for the Indian contingent as they failed to secure any medal. With already two shuttlers locking horns in the group stage, India failed to go into the next round in the mixed and women’s singles events as well. In addition, both Amit Kumar and Dharambir failed to make it into the top honors in the Men’s Club throw event as well. Lastly, even swimmer Suyash Jadhav saw his fate crumble when he was disqualified from the Men’s 100m breaststroke event.
However, it does seem like the Chinese contingent is building upon its upwards trajectory every passing day in the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 after they ended the day with an overall tally of 68 gold medals. With that being said, China is followed by RPC with 32 gold medals and Great Britain with 30 medals. And the last two spots in the top 5 are filled by USA and Netherlands. Given that there were numerous events on display for sports enthusiasts, let us take a look upon the medalists from some of them.
